Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) & The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist to join our growing Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Section.
Our neuro-oncology program sees on average 50 new patients per year. We have 1 established pediatric neuro-oncologist as well as specialty nurse, social worker, and nurse practitioner support. The neuro-oncology team has strong collaboration with pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric neurology, radiation oncology, neuropathology, and neuroradiology. The local Arkansas Proton Center, currently under construction, will be the first in the state and one of only 41 nationwide, with an anticipated first treatment date of October 2023. We are members of the Children’s Oncology Group and have collaborations through our Innovative Cancer Therapeutics program with early phase clinical trials open through POETIC, BCC, and industry partners.
This is an academic clinical position with day-to-day responsibilities in the operation of a busy clinical service. Although the focus of practice will be pediatric neuro-oncology, responsibilities will also include some general oncology and hematology care when on service or covering call, as well as other potential outpatient responsibilities based on applicant’s interests. In addition to clinical service, there is an expectation for academic work with opportunities in education, research, and administration.
The successful applicant would join the active and growing section of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, which is nationally ranked by USNWR, within the Department of Pediatrics at UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
