Medical Director, Pediatric Neuro-Oncology

We’re seeking a Board Certified Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist to lead the CHOC Children’s Hospital Hyundai Cancer Institute Neuro-Oncology program in scenic Orange County, California. CHOC was recently honored to have been named a 2020 Top Children’s Hospital by The Leapfrog Group and one of the best children’s hospitals in seven specialties by U.S. News & World Report 2020-2021, including cancer; neonatology; orthopaedics; pulmonology; urology; diabetes and endocrinology; and neurology and neurosurgery. CHOC is exclusively committed to the health and well-being of children through clinical expertise, advocacy, outreach and research. CHOC’s regional healthcare network includes two state-of-theart hospitals in Orange and Mission Viejo, several primary and specialty care clinics, a pediatric residency program, and four centers of excellence – Children’s Heart, Neuroscience, Orthopaedic and the CHOC Hyundai Cancer Institute. CHOC Children’s Specialists is home to more than 243 physicians, 50 advanced practitioners and 22 pediatric subspecialties. The group practices at CHOC Children’s, a premier healthcare system based in Orange County and affiliated with the University of California, Irvine. CHOC has also earned the Gold Level CAPE Award from the California Council of Excellence, the only children’s hospital in California to ever earn this distinction, and was awarded Magnet designation, the highest honor bestowed to hospitals for nursing excellence. Recognized for extraordinary commitment to high-quality critical care standards, CHOC’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is the first in the United States to earn the Beacon Award for Pediatric Institute. The multidisciplinary Neuro-Oncology Treatment Program at the Hyundai Cancer Institute at CHOC Children’s is one of handful of such teams in the region providing patients virtually all the services they need under one roof, including access to pediatric oncologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists, social workers, dietician and speech, occupational and physical therapists, nurse practitioner, case coordinator and neuropsychologist. The ideal candidate for this opening will have exceptional communication and leadership skills, be a collaborative individual with a record of outstanding outcomes and provide positive patient and family experiences. Candidates must be Board Certified in Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology, have successfully completed a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology and either possess or are eligible for an unrestricted California medical license. We are looking for candidates who have at least eight years of post-fellowship experience with demonstrated clinical excellence, achievement in research, and innovation in resident and fellow education. Sun-drenched Orange County is ideally situated between San Diego and Los Angeles offering 45 miles of gorgeous coastline.
