The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP) to provide patient care in neuro-oncology at the UW Medicine Alvord Brain Tumor Center (ABTC) in Seattle, Washington. The ABTC consists of a multi-disciplinary group of specialists from Neurology, Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Neuropathology and Neuroradiology. The team offers treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumors, spinal cord tumors, and cancer-related neurological problems. The Neuro-oncology Tumor Board meets regularly to review patient management, develop interdisciplinary treatment plans for care and discuss research protocols for clinical studies. Our neuro-oncologists provide comprehensive care to brain tumor patients including management of chemotherapy and neurologic symptoms. In addition to caring for patients with primary and secondary tumors of the nervous system, our neuro-oncologists evaluate patients with neurologic symptoms from systemic cancer and cancer treatment.
This is a non-tenured full-time, annually renewed faculty appointment on a 12-month service period, and will be at the Teaching Associate rank. This position will be available September 1, 2018, and will remain open until filled.
Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure and APP Licensure
Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Program. Nationally certified APP with DEA
Proven excellence working in a interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of patients with brain tumors or other neurological diseases are highly desirable
Training and experience in Neuro-Oncology is preferred
